The Delta/Greely Local Emergency Planning
Both SERC and LEPCs were created to meet the requirements of the Federal Emergency Planning and Right-to-Know Act, also known as the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) Title III for emergency response planning.
As a very important aspect of its mandate, the Delta/Greely LEPC is required to receive the annual Tier II (Chemical Inventory) Reports from local industries and businesses. The LEPC uses this information to perform hazard assessments and planning for Borough communities. The information from these reports is available to the public upon request.
Due to the prevalence of natural and weather related disasters in Alaska, the Delta/Greely LEPC has enhanced its emergency planning to include an "all hazards" focus.
